Be Conscious of the Times
We're in the closing moments of the Church age. Let's discuss how we should conduct ourselves at this time.

Nowadays we hear a lot of talk about the Rapture and the second coming of Christ (these are two different things, and will be discussed in a later post). Some might wonder why we keep talking about it, wishing we would just leave it alone. But it’s actually very important to keep it at the forefront of our minds daily, especially with how close we are to both of these events.
The other day, I was clocking into work and found that my computer needed to be charged. I went to plug it in, but the charger was broken. I thought I wouldn’t be able to work until I got a replacement, so I figured I had some free time that day. I checked my phone for updates, just in case but, because I thought I’d at least have a day of some unplanned time off, I went on social media for a little bit. I figured I’d do so while I waited on a reply, and then I could read my Bible. Well, turns out my computer had another port where a different type of charger could also be used, and then I was right back to work, and I didn’t even get to touch my Bible.
Here’s the moral of the story: when we think we have extra time, many of us tend to procrastinate. Had I known I would only have had a short time of waiting, I would have grabbed my Bible first (and now I will, if there’s a “next time”).
This is why we must remain conscious of the times we’re in, and why we can’t stop reminding ourselves and each other that the Rapture is imminent. If we think we have more time, we’re likely to slack off; but if we are conscious that the time is short, we’ll make it a point to take care of what is most important before allocating time to other things.
The Lord Jesus spoke a parable about this in Matthew 24:
“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 24:45-51 NKJV)
As Christians, we’ve got to be aware of the times and to walk with this consciousness continually. Be wise and do the Lord’s work until the trumpet sounds, for we don’t know when it will be, but we know it’s soon. I'll leave you with these final words from the great apostle, Peter:
And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight. (2 Peter 3:14 NLT)
